Partial individual-choice coverage: Lester Miller only. Outcome not normalized; see the official narrative. Official narrative (decoded plain text): Mr. Hudson made a motion to authorize the Interim Superintendent to enter to into a contract with Central Georgia Partnership for Individual and Community Development (PICD) for the purchase of the property known as the Promise Center at 1780 Anthony Road for $8.5 million and to sign over the ownership of Hamilton Elementary School, a surplus property, at 1870 Pio Nono Avenue; seconded by Dr. West and approved 5-3. Mr. Downey, Mr. Miller, and Mrs. Sipe voted no. The Promise Center building was recently appraised for $8.45 million. Central Georgia PICD has invested a significant amount in the building for renovations, which include the finished spaces being currently leased by Central Georgia Technical College and shell improvements for the entire property. The District has planned for future improvements in order to house the Career, Technical and Agricultural (CTAE) Department's pathways in partnership with Central Georgia Technical College. The District recently received a $3.11 million grant from the state, which would reimburse the District for expenses to renovate the building; however, the District would not be reimbursed for the renovation expenses if it does not own the building. Under the purchase agreement, Central Georgia Technical College will continue to lease space in the building. Hamilton Elementary School, a surplus property, was recently appraised at $100,000 and has been deemed of no use to the District. Motion made by: Mr. Thomas Hudson Motion seconded by: Dr. Wanda West
