Partial individual-choice coverage: Lester Miller only. Outcome not normalized; see the official narrative. Official narrative (decoded plain text): A Performance Learning Center (PLC) is a non-traditional high school institution that assists students who have had difficulty succeeding within a traditional school setting. They create an environment that emphasizes personal support and an intense academic program anchored by an online instructional system and project-based learning. PLCs serve as one of many successful dropout prevention interventions created by Communities in Schools (CIS), the oldest and largest non‐profit organization dedicated to keeping students in school.   The Students are defined as: Overage eighth grade Middle School Students (15-16 years of age entering high school)Overage and Under-credited 9th and 10th grade studentsPregnant teens and Teen ParentsExtenuating circumstances (i.e.  prolonged illness, working to assist in maintaining family) taken on a case by case basis with the CIS- Staff, case workers and base school  On 8/14/2014 CISGA/CISCGA and representatives from Bibb County School District will attend the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) Innovation Grant Technical Assistance meeting to learn how funds can be obtained to expand this intervention program. A motion to approve the partnership proposal for the implementation of the Hutching Performance Learning Center was made by Ms. Farmer; seconded by Dr. West and approved 7-1.  Ms. Carter voted no and states that she is not opposed to the PLC, but does not want a program to be racially identified or  identified as a program to drop problem children. Partial individual-choice coverage: Lester Miller only. Outcome not normalized; see the official narrative. Official narrative (decoded plain text): CEP is a tool for schools with high percentages of low-income students to provide meals at no charge to all students. Schools that adopt it, do not collect school meal applications. Instead, the school’s meal reimbursement is calculated by the number of students certified for free meals without a paper application (called “Identified Students”) based on their status as in foster care, Head Start, homeless, migrant, or living in households that receive SNAP/Food Stamps, TANF cash assistance or FDPIR benefits.    The district can implement CEP in any school that meets the criteria – at all, one or multiple schools.  CEP should result in an increase in federal funding through the school nutrition programs and creates the opportunity for a healthier student body and a healthier school meal budget. A motion was made by Mr. Miller; seconded by Ms. Farmer and approved 8-0. Motion made by: Mr. Lester M. Miller Motion seconded by: Mrs. Lynn Farmer
